Online 8 Hour Hazwoper Refresher Training Course

The general workers whose job includes removing hazardous waste or workers who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards must receive the 8 hour HAZWOPER training course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The 8 hour HAZWOPER course fulfills the requirements in OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for 8 hours of annual refresher training. The topics included in HAZWOPER 8 hour training are HAZWOPER regulations, hazardous chemicals, safety and health plans, safety hazards, site control, air monitoring, decontamination, medical surveillance, personal protective equipment, and respiratory equipment.

Seat Time: 8 hours

Prerequisites: Workers must first complete the 24 hour or 40 hour of HAZWOPER to enroll this course.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Characterization of the site for identifying the hazards that can possibly be present in the workplace and the steps to minimize the hazards.
Understanding the requirements and regulations of OSHA.
To develop a Medical Surveillance Program and understand the purpose.
Understand toxicology principles and their relation to the various types of chemical exposures.
Understand decontamination methods, principles of decontamination and levels of decontamination.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Understand potential hazardous situations that involve oxidizers, solvents, corrosives and reactive chemicals.
Understand various considerations during an emergency and the importance of training and actions to personal safety and that of others.

QUIZZES and TESTING:

There is a set of quizzes between training chapters. All module quizzes must be cleared with a minimum score of 70% to proceed forward in the course. The final exam at the end of the course also requires the same minimum score to complete the HAZWOPER training successfully. If a trainee is not able to clear the final exam then, there are two additional attempts at no additional charges.

Upon successful completion of course you can print your HAZWOPER certificate.
